How does Lexington Law legally repair bad credit?
Although some would like to have you think otherwise, there is absolutely nothing illegal about disputing questionable items on your credit report. In fact, it is your explicit right by law to do so (see Fair Credit Reporting Act).
Moreover, our Concord service upgrade affords additional consumer protection services using some or all of the following statutes: The federal Fair Credit Billing Act accords consumers the right to request extensive information regarding billing and account history. The Truth in Lending Act stipulates conditions for establishing credit accounts. And, finally, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act allocates specific rights to citizens regarding accounts that have passed into collection status.
Using a variety of strategies, we will advocate for your consumer rights.
How long does credit repair take?
It is inappropriate for any law firm to promise a particular result within a certain time frame. We can no more do that than we could promise a client that he or she would prevail in a court of law. Though we can give you an idea as to how we have performed in the past, your personal experience may vary. When credit reports are promptly sent to us, many clients have seen exhilarating progress within the first 60 days.
Statistically, our participating clients have seen an average of 8.7 deletions (or 25.7% of their presenting negatives) from their combined credit reports by month 3, and 28.6 deletions (or 84.7% of their presenting negatives) by month 12.*
The progress of your case will depend on your timely participation (sending in credit reports on a timely basis), the nature of your case, and the level of credit bureau cooperation.
Because Concord-level clients are provided expanded legal services that include additional interventions, their cases may proceed even more quickly. However, it is important to remember that a law firm cannot promise a particular result within a certain time frame since every case and credit report is different.
*Average results for Concord level clients who submitted updated reports quarterly for one year. Your results may vary.
Does paying my bills restore my bad credit?
You would think that would be true. But, again, the credit reporting system just doesn't work that way.
When you pay an old debt, the negative credit listing doesn't disappear. Once paid, it may appear on your credit report as a paid delinquency, charge off or collection (whatever the case may be.)
That is, you won't get very far paying your debts unless you also work to restore your credit at the same time.
Do you guarantee your credit repair service?
Our service is backed by a refund policy which entitles you to some or all of your money back if enough questionable items are not removed. Put simply, we donít believe you should have to pay for ineffective service. Here's how the refund policy works.
After you have been a client for 12 months, if you feel ambivalent about the success of our service you can request an evaluation of your account. You must send us current credit reports. We will calculate the total value of all successfully deleted and/or improved items and compare that amount to the fees you have paid us. If what you have paid exceeds the value of deleted items we will reimburse you the difference.
To determine the total value of our service we count the number of items we successfully improved or deleted from your credit report and multiply that by $100 per item. This does not mean that we will charge $100 in addition to our regular fees. Rather, we use the value of $100 per deleted item to determine if we created spectacular value for you (or not.)
What does it cost?
Lexington Regular helps you dispute an unlimited number of questionable items on your credit reports with Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.

What are the advantages of using a law firm?
While there are many companies who brand themselves as credit repair organizations, most of them lack the clout and legal experience necessary to adequately represent your dispute efforts. Some of the specific advantages of using Lexington Law are:
- We can do everything a non-attorney can do, and many things they can't.
- We keep abreast of current consumer laws as well as changes to, interpretation thereof, and applicability of those laws.
- We govern ourselves according to the applicable rules and principles of professional conduct.
- Your confidentiality is protected by the attorney-client privilege.
How long has Lexington Law been doing credit report repair?
Lexington Law and its staff and advisors have a long history of providing credit report repair services. In 1991 Lexington began to offer representation to the general public. Since that time Lexington has represented tens of thousands of Americans and helped them reach their credit goals.
Can bad credit be deleted?
The simple fact is that questionable credit listings are deleted from credit reports by the thousands each and every day. The proof is very compelling: The efforts of Lexington Law Firm have successfully resulted in many hundreds of thousands of questionable credit listings being deleted.
Ultimately, as Lexington client, you too may see for yourself that your good credit rating can be restored. Indeed, you can restore a questionable credit profile in much less time than seven years. It's not necessarily easy or foolproof, but the right to challenge and improve your credit is yours.
Should consumers try credit repair on their own?
This really depends on you and the amount of time you're willing to allocate toward repairing your credit.
Disputing the credit report is easy. Getting results, however, can often be difficult, complex, and infuriating. Remember that creditors routinely charge higher rates of interest to those with negative credit histories, so sloppy credit reporting may serve to maximize their profits, a circumstance that can make the process of credit repair a difficult and frustrating experience for many consumers.
Moreover, restoring your own credit is like repairing your own transmission or representing yourself in court; you can certainly do it (and you have the right), but you must decide if you are willing to take the time and endure the possible frustration of doing it yourself. In fact, according to a 2004 survey of 2,106 clients, 38.6% of Lexington clients attempted to repair their own credit before retaining the firm.
Does enough good credit offset any bad credit?
Any amount of bad credit is devastating to your chances of being approved by a credit grantor. Most credit grantors never actually look at your credit report. A computer pulls your credit report, rates your credit standing, income, indebtedness, and stability, then spits out an acceptance or denial. Even one or two slow pays will usually trigger a credit card or personal loan denial. The slightest amount of negative credit could cause the interest on an auto loan to skyrocket. You will probably find that even a little bad credit, regardless of how much good credit you have, is an unacceptable barrier to credit approval.
Kevin and his team were prompt, friendly, and very available, even off hours. His team members were extremely helpful, and helped us complete all documentation easily and quickly. They also answered questions outside their area to help us with closing.
Lake State Mortgage provided excellent service. Every member of the staff was courteous, thorough, and quick to assist us with every question or issue. They even helped us find an agent to provide a great home insurance premium. We closed with a VA loan in four weeks! We are extremely grateful we chose them as our lender!
AWESOME LENDER! - We found Kevin and learned about our various options with refinancing the home in order to re-invest in another property. Kevin was incredibly helpful, resourceful and guided us through every step of the process. We are definitely using him for all our mortgage needs in the future!
Kevin and his team are amazing! They were efficient, and were able to close my mortgage for me in record time. I was with a different lender at first, that gave misleading information and expectations that were never met. So I switched my mortgage to Kevin's office and it was smooth sailing all the way through. Thank you is not near good enough!
